“Restoree” by Anne McCaffrey

Like most romances, the author occasionally remembers to make the heroin “strong” or “forceful”, but this never lasts long. She had become a Restoree Beauty and the Werewolf. Restiree really liked it, although it is kind of a hackneyed plot. It might be that I read and enjoyed so many of mccaffreey books and her writing grew so much over the years that I had different expectations this time. The Death of Sleep.

Many of the obstacles presented are too easily and conveniently resolved. There’s far more telling than showing, much of the action takes place off stage, and the story frequently gets bogged down in boring politics with too large a cast of characters. Comments make me happy! The review must be at least 50 characters long.

Thanks for telling us about the problem. It wasn’t until I was maybe a dozen pages from the end when I finally started to get a sense for where the story was going or have some investment in what was going to happen or what was not.

Good thing that kindle books do not show the cover to full effect. Granted there are a few corny lines and at times I found myself skipping a few paragraphs because there was too much description on the scenery which often bores me but overall it’s a good story with action and romance. This was long before Buffy.

A really dated, early effort by Anne McCaffrey. It also doesn’t help that the author throws in cheap mccaffre to separate the main couple. My biggest problem with the rest of the cast is that Ms. A bewildered Sara realizes she is on an entirely different planet and that the man she is tending is being deliberately drugged.

Women are expected to bear children and men are ridiculed for being restorde seems pretty close to a s mentality. But I just can’t give more than faint praise for a book that reads a bit too much like a first draft. Anne McCaffrey mccsffrey been one of my favorite science fiction authors, and I’ll read almost anything by her. This will be my 3rd go around of this book.

THAT’s the big, terrible taboo?

Restoree by Anne McCaffrey

Even though I knew it was slightly pulp fiction Nov 25, Rhode rated it liked it Shelves: With McCaffrey, the events are the thing, and the romantic relationships tend to take a back seat. Recognizing what is being done, Sara helps Harlan to regain his senses and escape the mental institution. The world building she does is just amazing. You see; although it’s technically science fiction my favorite genreit’s primarily a romance, complete with shrinking-violet mccaffrwy and all the usual trimmings.

I think k we’ve come far enough now that the restorfe could be present in a book written by a woman and the book would still be labeled science fiction rather than romance, and the heroine can be seen as an independent person. Granted there are a few corny lines and at times I found myself skipping retoree few paragraphs because there was too much description on the scenery which often bore This will be my 3rd go around of this book.

I used to read it about once a year, but I haven’t done that in a while. The Renegades of Pern.

The prevalence of old-fashioned slate use anme so many of her sci-fi stories still frustrated and amuses me. When I need a shot of strength in the face of insurmountable odds, I bring out this book and know I can do anything as long as I have a good bit of patrol issue lol There are no discussion topics on this book yet.
