An emotional, sad tale that turns good. Think the ending was a bit rushed but if I did not pay for it, I am not complaining.
I think it would have been good to begin the book with more than just the rescue.

I think they should have given more background to the hostage situation. Much to my surprise the book was as I remembered it. It takes a forced marriage to eventually force them to admit their feelings. So pull up a chair and take down a book- or pick up a Kindle- and join me in a world where the heroes are tough and headstrong but never boorish and the heroines are feminine and sympathetic but never helpless.
As I said it is an older book and that should be took in to account when reading but I have always been a sucker for the “unrequited love that turns out to be they have always loved me too” storyline. Clair Mattig rated it liked it Sep 17, I like to read and write stories in which the main characters overcome obstacles to get together, and then stay together because their mutual devotion cannot be denied no matter what else is happening around them. Considering how long I have remembered the characters I decoded to reread it. I had always been discouraged from pursuing a writing career by the volatile nature of the business and the relatively poor chance for success.
